Wareham Car Chase

Two New Bedford men are apprehended by Wareham Police following a car chase Tuesday night. The incident began as police tried to stop a suspicious vehicle on Depot Street which sped away from the scene. The driver lost control of the car and struck a guardrail and lightpost before coming to a stop near the Plymouth town line. The driver, 17 year old Quintin Costa of New Bedford, fled on foot and was captured by Bourne and State Police a short distance away as he tried to cross Rt. 25. The passenger in the car, 19 year old Preston Pedrosa of New Bedford, stayed in the vehicle and complained of back pain and was taken to Tobey Hospital in Wareham. The driver faces numerous motor vehicle charges while the passenger will not face any charges.
