The recent edition of the Barry Richard Show featured significant discussions ranging from extraordinary cosmic events to controversial political endorsements that have stirred the public's attention. Central to this episode was the confirmation by NASA of a meteorite landing in Cape Cod Bay, Massachusetts. This event, occurring on a Saturday, was highlighted for causing a sonic boom that echoed across the state. NASA described the meteor as a bolide, with the energy equivalent to approximately 300 tons of TNT, a considerable force that broke apart and landed in the bay.

Witnesses reported hearing and seeing the meteorite, with over 80 accounts logged by the American Meteor Society, stretching as far as Ontario, Canada. The meteorite was initially about three feet wide, entering Earth’s atmosphere at a staggering speed of 75,000 mph before fragmenting about 40 miles above the ground. Remarkably, the pieces landed at a depth of about 111 feet, and NASA noted the interest of potential treasure hunters, as many meteorites are magnetic and could potentially be retrieved from the water.

Shift in the conversation turned towards politics, specifically concerning Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey's endorsement of Graham Platner, a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Maine. This endorsement has raised eyebrows due to Platner’s controversial past, including an 18-year period where he displayed a Nazi tattoo. The host expressed dismay regarding Healey's decision, questioning the moral implications of supporting a candidate with such a troubled history while actively campaigning against prominent Republican figures, including former President Donald Trump.

Platner’s scandalous background, which includes various allegations and controversial statements, has been criticized by many, even within the Democratic Party. The host elaborated on how endorsements from significant political figures have put Healey and others under scrutiny, as they seem willing to overlook serious issues for political gains, particularly in the pursuit of winning the seat held by Republican Senator Susan Collins.

Further discussions included the reaction of prominent Democrats like Bernie Sanders, who, despite Platner's questionable history, argued for his candidacy due to his stance against wealth inequality. The ongoing debate reflects broader concerns about the standards of political morality in an era dominated by tribalism and the pursuit of power at any cost.

As the program continued, the host raised critical points about the implications of endorsing controversial figures and the potential consequences for the Democratic Party. The episode concluded with reflections on the current political climate, emphasizing the importance of character and accountability in the political sphere.

[music] Text us using app chat on the WBSM app. Now, the Barry Richard Show. Hello everybody and welcome to the program for a Tuesday. Beautiful day. Nice day about 69 right here on the neck. Probably warmer away from the water, but not much of a breeze. It's just comfortable and a good day to get outside and maybe take some steps and um get some uh some exercise today. It's going to stay nice most of the week, but of course second part of the weekend right now, they're looking for rain. So um enjoy the weather while it's good. Um, so NASA has now confirmed some of the earlier reports about that meteorite that came down uh over Massachusetts on Saturday. And um they call it a fishy squisher. A fishy squisher. Squish squisher. It's easy for me to say. As I've stated um [clears throat] excuse me yesterday um most of the globe is made up of water. These things come in you know fairly regularly and um they just kind of land in the water and nobody's even is even uh really aware of it. Um but it was a meteor and caused a sonic boom that was heard throughout Massachusetts. um released about as much energy as 300 tons of TNT. That's a considerable blast as it broke into pieces and landed squarely in the middle of Cape Cod Bay. According to NASA, uh NASA described the falling meteor as a bolide or an exceptionally bright type of fireball. The American Meteor Society logged more than 80 reports from witnesses who described seeing or hearing the phenomenon as far away as Ontario, Canada. I've been reading some reports from people in Vermont, from Rhode Island, and all over the place that actually saw, and you can find video online. Lots of folks, you know, have those um Ring cameras on their doors. They have um cameras in their cars hanging down from the um rearview mirror. I know my wife has one of those, but it picks up stuff. According to NASA, the fireball fell at about 206 and appeared to have fragmented about 40 miles above the uh border between Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The well 40 40 miles up near the border between Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The meteorite pieces all landed in roughly 111 ft of water, according to NASA. Most meteorites are strongly attracted to a magnet. And these ones are within reach of a 100% length of rope dangled off a boat. NASA pointed out in case anyone is interested in such factoids. The original meteor was about 3 feet wide or about the size of a large beach ball, we're told, collided with Earth's atmosphere shield at 75,000 mph, according to meteorologists, at one degree outside. Still, the weather outlet suggested that Saturday's sonic boom does not mean Earth is at an increased risk of impact as the atmospheric uh the atmosphere typically uh does an incredible job of burning up space debris before it can wreak any havoc. Tell that to the dinosaurs, right? NASA says meteors are actually quite common. They occur all the time and fireballs can be seen on any given night, but they often occur over the ocean or unpopulated areas with no witnesses or during the daytime, making them difficult to even see. So, there you go. I guess that's the uh pretty much the closing of the book on the um [sighs and snorts] on the media from Saturday. Um, just getting a text here from Tim Dunn and this shouldn't come as much of a surprise to you, but he's been u covering more Healey. He's going to be covering her Healey this afternoon. Gasili is going to be on her is on her way to Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, which is currently called Boston Stadium for the uh the FIFA games uh that will be played there this week and and into um well this month and into next month, a little bit into next month. And Tim says that Healey just gave her a weekly radio interview or monthly radio. I think it's a month. I think she does a monthly thing on um the public radio station in Boston, GBH, during which time she was asked her thoughts about Graham Platner. very troubled and troublesome Democrat candidate for the US Senate up in Maine. And according to Tim, Mora Hilly has just endorsed Democrat Platner for the US Senate. Does that shock you? Shouldn't shock you, but he's in Washington right now, by the way. um the Nazi Nazi dude Nazi dude is in Washington right now and he's going to be meeting this afternoon uh with um various senators, Democrat senators to try to win their support over um Mora Healey's on board. What more can you want? Now they you know here we go. This is this is incredibly interesting. Bora Healey is running a campaign against Donald Trump and lamb basing the two Republican candidates for governor of Massachusetts, Brian Schwarzleeve and Mike Manino because she says they support Trump. They're Trump supporters. They're MAG of people. You can't vote for him. He's a bad dude. you know it. And she just um apparently on the radio endorsed a guy who for 18 years wore a Nazi tattoo on his chest. And you know what? That was one of the mildest things that he's done. So, for every thing else you might be pissed at more Healey about or or you might figure her time has come to pack her a little uh satchel, put on her pro kids and and how you get the hell out of the state house. She's endorsing a Nazi. She's endorsing a Nazi. A real live Nazi. I mean, she's called Trump a Nazi. All the Democrats up on Beacon Hill keep saying Trump's a Nazi. Trump's a Nazi, but they're all endorsing a real Nazi. Trump's not a Nazi, but this guy is a Nazi and they're endorsing him. So Bora Healey is the latest to come out to endorse Graham Platner, the Nazi, against Republican US Senator Susan Collins up in Maine because anything has got to be better than Susan Collins, right? Even a Nazi. Um Bernie Sanders, another screw ball leftwinger progressive, refusing to back away from his support of Platner. Sanders argued that it was Platner's firm stance against billionaires that was um dredging a ball of the skeletons in his closet. The guy's got a wrap sheet as long as my leg of um bad and distasteful things that he's done, not the least of which is wearing a Nazi tattoo on his chest for 18 years. U but Bernie says that um well his stance against billionaires because he's he's against billionaires then people are dredging up all this dirt on him. What we're looking at right now is a situation where billionaires have already pledged to spend $90 million in a tiny state like Maine. Sanders says, "Trust me, that is a lot of money." Bernie ought to know he's a millionaire. Bernie's a multi-millionaire. He ought to know $90 million is a lot of money. They don't want him in. And the reason they do not want him in the Senate is he has had the guts to stand up to the big money interests to fight for health care as a human right to demand the billionaires start paying their fair share of taxes. be continued. You know, it wasn't all that long ago Bernie Sanders, people like Bernie Sanders and Ed Marky, they were they were what what what are known as backbenchers. Um, they were there but pretty much ignored. Nobody took them seriously. The media didn't take them seriously. Their own colleagues didn't take them seriously. Bernie was never a member of the Democrat party unless he was running for president. Other than that, he was an independent and he uh but he would caucus with the Democrats, but nobody ever took them seriously. I mean, they were looney tunes. They still are Looney Tunes. Somehow another, Bernie Sanders and Ed Marky have moved to the center of the Democrat party. Bernie says, "What we're looking at right now is a situation where billionaires have already pledged to spend $90 million in a tiny state like Maine. Trust me, that's a lot of money." Bernie said they don't want him in. And the reason they do not want him in the Senate is he has the guts to stand up to big money interests, to fight for health care as a human right, to demand billionaires start paying their fair share of taxes. I think what we as a nation need to do is to focus on the important issues facing working families, 60% of whom are living paycheck to paycheck, Andrew says. And I think that Graham and his wife Amy will work on their marriage. I wish them the best, says Bernie. Boy, what a soul. What a kind-hearted soul he is, huh? Senator Ruben Ggo of Arizona, another Democrat um who endorsed Platner early on, said that the candidate has lived a quote very, you know, real experience. He's talked about it. [snorts] Unbelievable. He's lived a real experience and he's talked about it. Yeah. He's worn a Nazi tattoo on his chest for 18 years. He's talked to his wife about it. There was, you know, the voters of Maine are going to decide what they're going to do, but you know, we know that at this point this man can still win the race and as long as he continues, I think we'll all be there. Ggo said, as I mentioned, Platner is in DC right now going to meet with some senators this afternoon. And Bernie's not going to be there, though. Bernie's uh Bernie's busy. Probably looking for some fresh balloons to comb his hair with. I don't know. But the choice to continue backing him despite the several scandals piling up has Republicans both scratching their heads and salivating of the chance to take on a candidate bogged down by baggage. reports Alex Miller for Fox News Digital. I mean, this guy's a nut job, said Senator Eric Schmidt, who's a Republican from Missouri. So, that's their call. But, you know, I won't hold my breath for the Democrats to sort of course correct on this. They're just it's just about absolute power for them. So they want to support a dude with Nazi tattoos who has all this other stuff going on. I mean that's on them. The senator said Van Jones, political commentator for uh CNN, was on something called the source last night. said Democrats were sticking with Platner because Republican Senator Susan Collins won't stop completely deranged President Donald Trump. Susan Collins won't stop Donald Trump. Completely deranged Donald Trump according to Van Jones. So therefore, the Democrats are justified in supporting a Nazi. Joan said, you know, I don't like this kind of stuff in that, you know, there used to be a time where character mattered a lot more, but where we are now, I remember Bill Clinton, he had a bunch of scandals and the party said, you know what, we are more concerned about the end of Republican rule in DC. and they rallied around Bill Clinton. I think you guys see that same thing in Maine. I think the problem you have now is just that the standards have dropped so low because of Trump's behavior. I don't recall Trump wearing a Nazi tattoo on his chest for 18 years. I don't remember that. But somehow or another, this is Trump's fault. Democrats are supporting a degenerate Nazi in Maine. And somehow or another, it's because of Trump. You know what happened? The Democrats have been doing this a lot lately. They vet people and they push people and they find out, uhoh, you know, I mean, anybody could be anybody. I mean, um, George Floyd, you know, look, they promoted George Floyd as though he were an alter boy, right? Look at look at George Floyd. Look what happened with that whole thing, right? And what about the Maryland man? illegal immigrants in general. Camala Harris, right? They promoted Camala Camala Harris. They suspended the entire process of nominating a candidate, put Camala Harris up there, and the woman came across as being either drunk or stoned all the time and sounded like an idiot, and she was stupid as hell. But yeah, they just, you know, and now you got a Nazi with a Nazi tattoo on his chest who's done and said some pretty disgusting things over the course of his uh time on on planet Earth, but the Democrats are going to stick with him anyway, through thick or through thin. One of my favorite columnists is a uh guy by the name of John Noli. You probably read John Noli's stuff on Breitbart. He's very insightful columnist. And he writes, "Maine's front running Democrat, US Senate candidate, Graham Nazi tattoo platner is a man only a Democrat in the corporate media could love." Why? Because he's a Democrat. And if you say you're a Democrat, you can be and do anything you want. And Democrats will stand by you. the corporate media will also stand by you. You know, kind of like they did with Ted Kennedy when Ted Kennedy killed a girl um off Chap Quitic stood right by him. Kept Ted in office for another 30 years after that. What the hell? Anyway, Noti says, "Look at this guy. Here we are living in a world where the same media that destroyed a rodeo clown who wore an Obama mask is okay with this." Yes. The same media that spent months vilifying the GOP and then presidential candidate Mitt Romney for something dumb, US Senate, something dumb, US Senate candidate Todd Aken said about abortion is now okay with this. Honestly, if video is ever discovered of Platner having sex with a kangaroo, CNN will describe him as an animal lover, says Ny. Note he says, "Here are the 14 known as of now scandalous things Platiner has done. Number one, he wore a Nazi SS deaf head tattoo for 18 years. Number two, his account on the alleged predator sex site kick. He's married." Number three, explicit sexs. That's um sex texting with half dozen women in 2023 while being married. Number four, disparaged all black people as a population that doesn't tip. Number five, blamed sexual assault victims for being sexually assaulted. Number six, smeared rural Maine population is racist. Number seven, anti-gay posts on Reddit. Number eight, promoted an alleged Holocaust denier on social media. Number nine, bragged about masturbating in public portaotties. I'd forgotten about that one. Maybe on purpose, I don't know. Uh, number 10, mocked Purple Heart recipient as a quote dumb mother effer that didn't deserve to live. Number 11 encouraged military contractors to quote bang hookers in Thailand. Number 12 called the Virgin Mary a quote skank. Number 13 had a Dwee. Number 14 appeared on anti-semmites podcast who says Jews killed Kennedy. That's their man. The Democrats love this guy. This guy was just endorsed about 20 minutes ago, I guess. Tim uh Tim Dunn just reported this endorsed by Mora Healey. Not says Democrats sure got it good. Democrats and the media are throwing away every ounce of residual moral authority they might have had to defeat who? US Senator Susan Collins, who is one of the most liberal Republicans in the Senate. Democrats could have gone with sitting Governor Janet Mills, but they rallied around Mr. Nazi tattoo instead, which forced Mills out of the race. Republicans claim the OP research on Platner they have yet to release is so devastating that he will be forced to leave the race and the state of Maine. Note he says here's what we should all hope happens. Platner secures the nomination on June 9th but then new scandals make him unelectable. So, he's then forced out of the race by Democrats and replaced by someone no main Democrat voted for. How great would it be to see the pro-democracy Democrats pull their second Kamla in two years, dump the guy everyone voted for, and replace him with someone no one voted for. So we now have three four at least four four that I know of off the top of my head major Massachusetts political people powerful as hell in our government endorsing the Nazi tattoo guy. Elizabeth Warren fullthroated endorsement, refuses to back down. Ed Marky loves this guy so much he gave him space, table space at the Democrat convention in Massachusetts over the weekend, shared a table with the dude so he could try to line up some volunteers. Tim Dunn pointed out yesterday when he was on the program here that gee platner can't have all that much support in Maine if he has to come to Massachusetts to rally volunteers. People in Massachusetts can't vote in Maine. Although with mail and ballots, you'd never know. We've also got Seth Molton pulling for Mr. Platner. And today, Mora Healey on taxpayer and donationf funed GBH public radio in Boston endorsed Mr. Nazi Tattoo. Isn't that special? Quick break. We're coming right back after this. Stay tuned. You are listening to WBS. This portion [music] of programming on WBSM is brought to you by De's Hot Dogs in New Bedford where you can get two hot dogs, chips, [music] and a soda for just six bucks. Back to very on WBSM. Call 508996500. [music] Tuesday afternoon in Mecca and uh or Shangula or wherever you uh um happen to be at this point. It's beautiful right here. I mean, this area is so beautiful during the summer months and the spring months. It's just uh absolutely incredible. So, um hope you're enjoying your day. Thanks for joining us today. Um, if you're just tuning in, talking about um um the Nazi dude from Maine who is in Washington DC right now for meetings with Democrats. Uh, none of them are backing away. They they need Susan Collins seat so badly in Maine. They need to get Susan Collins seat in order to uh even have a prayer of winning back the Senate. So they will sacrifice their morals. They will sacrifice, you know, I would love to every election cycle I always ask myself, how does a Jew, any Jew in in in in America vote for the Democrat party? How does any Jew vote for um I mean, of course, I've been asking for years, how does any black person vote for a Democrat anyway? They they were the party and still are the KKK. and um anything to do with rights for black Americans, the Democrats were opposed to them. Um but I mean, you know, how does any Jew in America vote for a Democrat? One member of the legislative delegation, Jake Oenclaus, who happens to be Jewish, is absolutely 100% against him. Um although he was kind of wavering back and forth there because, you know, gee, I don't know. Do I do I put a Jew killer up there or um you know somebody who maybe killed some of my uh versus um Susan Collins? All she's done is be a liberal Republican. Um so it's kind of kind of a tough choice, but I guess Aenclaus is um is not quite ready to go with um with a Nazi. Folks, we have a real Nazi on our hands. I mean, this is incredible. All we've heard about for 11 years is Nazis. Everybody I'm a Nazi. You're a Nazi. Wouldn't you want to be a Nazi, too? Or Well, you know, springtime in Germany for Hitler. Remember that from the producers? Um, all we've heard about is the Nazis all over the all over the board in the right side of the political equation here. All of us MAGA people. We're all Nazis. All Nazis in training, you know, all all SS stormtroopers hle Trump and so on and so forth. And Trump's a Nazi. And this is all we've heard for 11 years. And then the Democrats go out and endorse a freaking Nazi, a real Nazi for the US Senate. And Mora Healey less than an hour ago endorsed this guy. Now, that doesn't make your chicken noodle soup curdle while you're eating lunch right now. I don't I don't know what is if if you're not convinced at this point that the leadership in Massachusetts must go again. Mora Healey endorses Nazi boy. Elizabeth Warren endorses Nazi boy. Seth Molton endorses Nazi boy. Ed Marquy not only endorses Nazi boy, but gave him table space at the Democrat state convention in Worcester over the weekend so that he could gather some volunteers for his campaign, his Nazi campaign. Uh there were no Nazis in Maine to um put to work handing out signs and bumper stickers and all of that. You got to come to Massachusetts and look for potential Nazis. This is rich. This is probably one of the funniest political scandals. I mean, you know, a lot of the stuff that this guy did is is pretty serious, including wearing a Nazi tattoo on his chest for 18 years before he finally covered it over after somebody called him out on it. And gee, I didn't know what that was. You put a, you know, a a tattoo the size of a pizza on your chest and you don't know what it is. [laughter] Oh my goodness. Um, I mean, this is this guy's got some serious stuff on his rap sheet here. You know, the sexing to women a month after he gets married to having a apparently his profile is still up too on this kick uh site, this kick app. It's a u allegedly a predator sex site. I I understand it may involve pedophilia. I'm not I haven't seen it. I've never visited it. Uh but I guess there there is or was a picture of him um shirtless. Got to show that Nazi tattoo off right to all the pedophiles um with a towel wrapped around his waist. Future senator of Maine. This is this just what we need in New England right now, right? Um, saying all black people as a population, they don't tip. Can you imagine if Donald Trump or anybody on the conservative side said, "Yeah, black people as a population don't tip." Oh my god. um blaming sexual assault victims for being sexually assaulted. Now, that's a source spot right here in New Bedford. Who remembers the Big Dan's gang rape case? I do. I remember vividly. I don't know, maybe some of you weren't born. Maybe some of you were still uh uh you know, running around in diapers, but I remember it vividly. And what that case centered on was a woman who was raped on a pool table in New Bedford at a bar by a gang of pigs. And part of the defense was that this woman came into the bar looking for it because she was dressed in a very provocative manner. She went into the bar to get cigarettes. It was a Sunday night. She was out of cigarettes. She went into the bar to get cigarettes out of the vending machine. Apparently got a drink while she was there. Whatever. I don't know. I was in there. that she was dressed pro very provocatively which was the green light the signal to yeah let's rape her look at the way she's dressed let's rape her on a pool table all of us the fact that she said no well you know hey she was just playing games well you know they blamed her because here she was a single girl in a bar dressed provocatively so she was looking for it don't you know Barry Don't you know anything? She went looking for it and she got what she was looking for. A lot of people in New Bedford felt that way. I remember that child very well. I made a lot of money on that child. I covered that for radio stations as far away as Australia. Daily reports on radio all over the world. And there was a good segment of our population who believed that she got what she deserved. But according to some of the social media activity from um Nazi boy up in Maine, sexual assault victims, it's their own fault. I was that 14-year-old girl that was raped in a Massachusetts motel. You know, one of Morahily's motel for illegal immigrants. You know, the 14year-old girl that was raped by the um Haitian think she was asking for it, too. Do you think she got what she deserved? Do you think maybe she winked at the guy or was provocative or whatever and uh deserved it? Nazi boy has also gone on Reddit and um posted anti-gay rants, promoted an alleged Holocaust denier on social media, bragged about masturbating in public Portaotties mocked Purple Heart recipient as a quote dumb mother effer who didn't deserve to live. Encouraged military contractors to quote bang hookers in Thailand and call the Virgin Mary a quote skank. This guy that's being embraced by Democrats. This is a guy that was endorsed just a short time ago, maybe an hour or so ago by Mora Healey here in Massachusetts. Tim Dunn is um on his way to Gillette Stadium in Foxboro right now. Tim Dunn, of course, from the the Boston Herald and one of our regulars here on the program uh to confront more Healey about this endorsement to find out more about it. So we hopefully we'll hear maybe we'll hear something from Tim before the show is out today um about why she feels this guy is worthy of her support. Because I want to know, don't you? Don't you want to know why Mora Hilly feels this guy is um worthy of her support? Mora Healey is struggling for re-election right now. He's going out on quite a big limb to make an endorsement of this guy. Although Democrats just seem to love him. I don't know. What can I say? 5089960500. I got to do the break. We're going to come right back after. Hey, sweetie. Your mother uh showed me this Carvana thing uh for selling the car. I'm going to give it a try. Wish me luck. Me again. I put in the license plate. I think he's in Somerset. $100 donation from him. um former House Speaker Prom Pat Hadad of Somerset, uh two $100 donations and anyway, he's going to be running um against Republican Seth Atkin in November for the uh district attorney's office. I just received a statement um from the short sleeve campaign, Patrick Nester from the short sleeve campaign on um Healey's endorsement of Graham Platner. Let me read that to you. It says Mora Healey just endorsed the self-abouted communist with a Nazi tattoo whose online writings include racist, sexist, and anti- police remarks over one of America's most distinguished and bipartisan senators. Let that sink in. It's a statement just a couple of moments ago from uh the um this is big stuff, folks. This is really big stuff. This is a um a message just sent from Brian Shortsleeve's campaign.
