President Trump is going to speak shortly and uh about affordability and is going to sign a um an executive order and I think we'll probably jump in for just a couple of minutes. Give a listen to what the president has to say. As you know, affordability has become a major issue uh particularly since the last election. Uh was it last week or two weeks ago now? I think it was just last week, right? And um oh, was it this week? No, it was last week. Yeah, it was last week. So, um anyway, affordability has emerged as a key issue as well. It should and we've even got the Democrats in Massachusetts talking about affordability. So, um it's a big thing and they know the people are pissed and they want to see some action. So, um politicians talking about affordability. We'll give a listen anytime, right? So, we'll pop that on for just a couple of moments. When it happens, uh we'll go to the official White House um link here. Um, in the meantime, while we're waiting for the president to come out, um, the US Mint yesterday ended production of the penny. Wow. The idea is to save some money and um because the one cent coin that could once buy a snack or a piece of candy had become increasingly irrelevant. Remember petty candy? I always my I can remember my my uncle Bob used to own Bob and Eileen's um on the corner of Welding County. Um my uncle Bob Antill and um he used to sell penny candy. I can remember going in there and they give you a little brown bag and you put your penny candy in and there were other stores too. Um there was a candy store right next door to the Capitol Theater on a Kushnet Avenue and um I can remember my father would give us each like 60 cents on a Saturday afternoon uh in the winter time. Obviously summertime we'd rather be outside playing and swimming or playing in the park or whatever, but um you know a day like this on a Saturday in the winter time, 50 cents to get in and 10 cents to go next door to the candy store and uh and get your penny candy. And you used to get like the hot fireballs, red hot fireballs, and you'd get the what? Zipper nut squirrels. And you'd get the string licorice and the fake lips. Remember that? The wax lips and the I mean, there were just so many different candy choices and you just it's amazing. Remember the little flying saucers with the um with the stuff inside there, the little candy balls inside of them and so on and so forth. and um the wax bottles with the juice, all of that for a penny. So you would uh you'd get 10 cents worth of penny candy and you'd get your 50 cents and you go to the movies, see a double feature, uh probably a Three Stooges short, maybe a cartoon, and even the news reel before it started. You'd be in there all afternoon at the old Capitol Theater on the Avenue. So good memories. But people don't use pennies anymore. Um I still save them. I collect them. I don't collect them, but I mean I like many of you, I have a big water jug or some kind of a jug. We have a jug somewhere. We we got a great big piggy bank pig on the on on um the dresser in uh in in our room and we just both put our change in there every day and it's usually a lot of pennies and um we save them and then we transfer them into a bigger bank. Um and then you roll them up and you bring them to the bank and you'd be surprised, you know, it's amazing. Many of you know I go for my walk every day, right? And u particularly when I walk around here, a lot of stores around here. Dunkin Donuts is here, drive-thru, McDonald's, and all that kind of stuff. So, um you know, people are coming through the drive-throughs, they have change, and just throw it out the window. I don't know what the hell planet they were brought up on, but to throw money out the window is and I pick it up. I'll bend over for a penny. Absolutely. And I bend over for quarters and dimes, and whatever they throw, I'll take it. I'm waiting for him to start throwing the 20s out the window, but I don't think that's going to happen. But um I pick it up, put it in my pocket, bring it home, put it in the pig. And um you know, it adds up after time, but people don't use pennies anymore. Um and it costs money to make it. I think last they heard it cost like two cents to make a penny. So I mean, that's kind of crazy, right? The last pennies were stuck at the mint in Philadelphia where the country's smallest denomination coins have been produced since 19 since 1793, a year after the Congress passed the Coinage Act. A few of the final pennies are going to be auctioned off. God bless America and we're going to save the taxpayers $56 million, US Treasurer Brandon Beachch said just before hitting a button to strike the final penny yesterday down in Philadelphia. I went to the men in Philadelphia many years ago back in the early 80s and it was quite a thing to visit. Um pennies remain legal tender so you'll still be able to spend them uh but you just won't get anymore any new ones. you'll get them in change and so on and so forth and feel free to throw them out the card window because I certainly will walk by and pick them up. 5089960500. Hey, you know, I'm I'm pretty well convinced that if Legacy Media didn't carry water for the Democrats, and I say this as a conservative, not as like a a MAGA because I'm really not I don't consider myself a MAGA person. I mean, so many things they've done the last 8 to 10 years have destroyed housing for brown uh people, black people, lower income people like myself. They've poured millions and millions of people into this country and then they're going to pay rent for them and then the rent is more than what you would get if you were renting it. But they've inflated the price to get these people in houses. >> Yeah. >> So they've destroyed inner cities. And you know when I hear these people say, "Oh, you know, open borders." Oh, how would these people feel if they had 30 people huddle huddling in their backyard? Which is a lot of these border cities have this, you know? I mean, they just don't come right in in the illegal crossings and go right into housing. You know, these people that are running over the borders are hiding somewhere. they're being uh they get refuge soon enough because we know the whole app thing where to go, what to do. And um and if Legacy Media was truly honest about this, they would tell the American people the bottom line of why the Democrats are doing this. You and I know why. And are the American people that uninformed that they can't find this out themselves? other Americans. >> Well, I think people are intellectually lazy and um and and they don't want to uh they don't want to spend a whole lot of time trying to figure things out. Um they don't go to the media very often. Um and what they hear in the media when they do go there is is skewered and usually inaccurate and um you know, so I mean there's that. There's a lot of different reasons, but um you know, I think it's unfortunate because um you know, an uninformed public um you know, votes for people like Ma'am Ma. So why and then you see what you get, right? All right, we're going to join the live feed from the White House right now and President Trump and Melania are just making their way up to the uh to the podium and Melania is about to speak first and we're going to find out what what exactly is going on here. And um so we'll see what's going on with that. He's still out there on the road. And uh absolutely amazing. Um breaking news just in. Senator John Federman has been hospitalized. You know, the um senator has been making a lot of news um by calling out his party over the uh the government shutdown. As a matter of fact, he voted continuously to um reopen the government and uh so Federman apparently was out for a walk this morning and um fell and apparently landed on his face. And um he uh issued a statement saying, "If you thought my face looked bad before, wait till you see it now." Um, according to um reports, uh, Federman fell during his walk this morning. He was ushered to a hospital in Pittsburgh out of an abundance of caution. Upon evaluation, it was discovered that Federman had a a ventricular fibrillation flare up, a heart rhythm disorder causing him to feel lightaded and fall to the ground, hitting his face, um, and sustaining minor injuries. According to his spokesperson, um he's chosen to stay at the hospital to receive routine observation and fine-tuning his treatment plan for his heart disorder. And um Congress is currently out of session. So that's why Federman was in Pennsylvania at the time of the accident this morning. And um legislative business resumes on Monday. So, uh, if there's any more news on that, we'll keep you posted on it. Um, in any event, President Trump is speaking, uh, at the moment. He's speaking, uh, on foster care. I'm not sure if he's gotten into the uh, affordability thing, but the president is signing an executive order to make foster care uh, better and fairer. and uh once he signs the order, he's expected to have something to say about um uh affordability. And so if we can't grab a couple of a couple of minutes of it, he's this guy's a tough nut because nothing's ever um completely prepared for him. He goes off the cuff a lot. So he goes uh in different directions and he can be out there for a long time. You may still be speaking um when Howie Gar comes on at three. So we'll find out uh what's going on at that point. Anyway, so I mentioned um Congress getting back to work on Monday and uh next week there will be a vote in the House of Representatives on the release of files related to uh Jeffrey Epstein. This is according to House Speaker Mike Johnson. Johnson's announcement came after newly sworn in representative Adalita Reavala, a Democrat in Arizona, became the uh 218th signature on a discharge petition bypassing House Republican leadership and forcing a vote on the House floor. four Republicans, Representative Thomas Macy Kentucky of uh Kentucky, Marjorie Taylor Green of Georgia, Lauren Boowbert of Colorado, and Nancy Mace of South Carolina join the Democrats in signing the uh petition. Uh both Johnson and President Trump have uh opposed the vote, which would also need to be approved by the Senate. Uh we're going to put that on the floor for a full vote next week just as soon as we get back. Johnson said Johnson noting the House oversight and government committee is already investigating Abstein. The oversight committee has been working around the clock even through the government shutdown for maximum transparency and full disclosure. Johnson said they have gone through combed through the Epstein estate files which I remind everyone was not even anticipated in the discharge petition and that's been a treasure trove. Johnson continued that's going to continue. The subpoenas are being supplied with um complied with and more are on the way. Johnson said. So, the AP had a story this morning on some developments that happened yesterday. Just as the um just as the um vote was pending to reopen the government, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released a few emails that mentioned Trump by name. I've read a bunch of them and correspondence between, and this isn't even mentioned by the AP, by the way, correspondence between um Epstein and uh a New York Times reporter Wolf, his first name is Mark Wolf, who was um digging around for dirt on Trump. And he was um he was essentially begging Ebstein to give him something. Just give me something. Give me something. Give me something. And these exchanges went back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. Uh, but the AP doesn't report on that. And, uh, in in in none of the exchanges between Epstein and Wolfe did Epstein, uh, say anything damaging about Trump. But anyway, so the um among those few emails that were released by the Democrats yesterday was a 2019 email to a journalist that Donald Trump quote knew about the girls. Now, what he knew and whether it pertained to the sex offenders crimes is unclear, says AP. It just says Donald Trump knew about the girls. What girls and what did he know? Democrats in the House Oversight Committee um there were three emails uh referencing Trump, including one Epstein wrote in 2011 in which he told confidant Justlain Maxwell that Trump had quote spent hours at Epstein's house. The disclosure seemed designed to raise um new questions about Trump's friendship with Epstein and about what knowledge he may have had regarding what prosecutors call a yearslong effort by Epstein to exploit underage children. But again, nothing in these new emails um is a smoking gun. There's nothing damning in any of it. The version of the 2011 email released by the Democrats redacted the name of the victim that Trump supposedly spent hours with at the House. But Republicans on the committee uh later said it was Virginia uh Jeff I don't know how to pronounce her name. She's in the news. She's the one that committed suicide. One of the key figures in this whole thing. Virginia Guthrie who accused Ebstein of arranging for her to have sexual encounters with a number of his rich and powerful friends. Now, she is on the record many times as saying that uh she never saw Trump at Ebstein's house, nor did she ever see him do anything inappropriate. Jeffrey, who died earlier this year, said Trump was not among the men who had uh victimized her. In a court deposition, she said under oath that she did not believe Trump had any knowledge of Epstein's misconduct with underage girls. And in her recently released memoir, she described meeting Trump only once when she worked as a spa attendant at his Mara Lago Club in Florida and did not accuse him of any wrongdoing. Now, this is I'm reading the AP to you. This is the Associated Press. Joffrey wrote that she was introduced to Trump by her father who also worked at the club. She described Trump as friendly and said that he offered to help her get babysitting jobs with parents at the club. Trump quote couldn't have been friendlier, she wrote. Other members of Epstein's household staff also said in sworn depositions that while Trump did stop by Epstein's house, they did not see him engage in any inappropriate activity. The White House spokesperson Caroline Levit said Democrats quote selectively leaked emails to create a fake narrative for smear Trump. Trump writing on his truth social platform said Democrats quote are trying to bring up the Jeffrey Epstein hoax again because he'll do anything at all to deflect how badly that they've done on the government shutdown and so many other subjects. Back in July, Trump said that he had banned Epstein from Mara Lago because his one-time friend was taking people who worked for me, including Joffrey, the woman he said, the women he said were quote, "taken out of the spa, hired by him, in other words, gone." I said, "Listen, we don't want you taking our people." Trumper told reporters Jeffrey was one of the employees poached by Epstein. the president demurred but then said Epstein stole her quote unquote. Shortly after Democrats released the Trump related emails, committee Republicans countered by disclosing what they said was an additional 20,000 pages of documents from Epstein's estate. Among them were a trove of emails written over several years by Epstein, including many where he commented often unfavorably about Trump's rise in politics. In the June 2019 email to um Michael Wolf, the reporter with the New York Times who asked, "Did Trump know about the girls?" Um, Epstein wrote, quote unquote, "Of course he knew about the girls." As he asked Just Lane to stop AP's like, "What does that mean? What does that mean?" Well, it's pretty clear what it means. As has already been stated, um Trump told Ebstein through just Maxwell to stop taking the girls, recruiting the girls from Mara Lago. Epstein wrote, "I want you to realize that that dog that has embarked is Trump. The dog that hasn't barked. >> The email from Epstein went on to say that Virginia has spent hours at my house with him. He has never once been mentioned. Maxwell replied the same day. I have been thinking about that. >> So, I mean, it's kind of clear the dog that hasn't barked, right? Makes a little sense, but um I don't know. So, we'll see. The the House is going to vote next week to release all the files and then hopefully this thing will be put to bed once and for all, no pun intended. You're up next and WBSM. They can't even talk the news. They can't even talk about anything good saying, "Oh, the government's back down. The government's back on. This is going on. They're going to get snapped. They're going to get paid. The air traffic controllers, the Democrats just really, they can't wait to run this country into the ground. Not even one news cycle of any positive news. They got to start all this other stuff, which is fine, but I mean, people really need to see what's going on here because that is outrageous that we can't even have one day to celebrate the government coming on, which those guys cried about. Can't celebrate SNAP. Can't celebrate the military getting paid. can't celebrate the air traffic controllers so we can get the airplanes up in the air safer, get more flights going. No, none of that really matters and they are really definitely showing how much of obstructionist these guys really are. >> Well, I mean what what indicate I mean clearly indicates that is these people finally voted to uh end the shutdown after 43 days and they didn't win anything. They got nothing. They could have voted on the same resolution uh six weeks ago and the government would have stayed open and we could have probably negotiated a deal on healthcare by now. >> Yeah. But this just goes to show you people really need to stand back and take a look at >> So what we've been hearing about for the last year or since Trump uh got reelected was um the Epstein files. They're doing this to to cover up the Epstein files. They're doing that to cover up the Epstein files. So, you get a couple of members from the uh the House Oversight Committee last night decide to uh release a couple of uh emails uh just as they're getting ready to vote on the you know, on the um um you know, opening the the government again. And um you know, it's a it's and so there you go. And and but there's still no smoking gun. There's still no damning stuff. As a matter of fact, if you listen to the wording of those emails, um I think it further exonerates him. Yep. But it just goes to the fact that they're not really interested in taking care of the people. They could have at least give it a good day and and said they didn't, you know, they didn't even try to claim any kind of victory, which I would have if I was the Democrat. I would have said this is what we did. We got the government open. >> How do you claim a victory? >> They didn't even spin it that way. >> How do you claim a victory when you when you shut the government down for 43 days, uh delay any kind of action on healthcare and um and you get nothing? You get nothing. You walk away with it. >> I would at least I would at least try to spin it that way if I was a Democrat. They didn't even try to put the spin on it. They just come out with some more more garbage. >> Yeah. >> All right. Well, maybe we'll smarten up some days. I hate both parties to tell you the truth. I mentioned a column today in the Boston Herald by Douglas um Min uh Machinon Douglas Menon and um he says for the last number of years I have watched in growing despair as three liberal carpet baggers has have uh purpose purposefully and uh systemically destroyed my hometown of Boston and my home state of Massachusetts. Those far-left corporate baggers being Boston Mayor Michelle Woo, Governor Mora Healey, and Senator Elizabeth Warren. Woo being from Chicago, uh Healey from New Hampshire, and Warren from Oklahoma. Surely there are a number of elected positions all three could have aspired to and attained in their respective home states. But no, all three independently decided they wanted to lay waste to Boston and Massachusetts. He goes on to say, "Of course, if one just barely scratches the surface, one can find the far-left incubator which connects them all, that being Harvard University. All three attended and were seemingly indoctrinated at that once great institution." I was reminded of these three pushers of woke doctrine when reading an article on Fox News digital titled Blue Cities Homicide increase flashing red warning light to soft on crime experiment according to experts. Um that deep blue city naturally being Boston. I remember that story and we talked about it here on the air. As a matter of fact, uh the piece correctly echoed what is being reported with more frequency. That being that soft on crime policies are creating a surge in homicides in what was once considered to be one of the safest cities in the United States. True. until carpet baggers Woo or carpet bagger Woo decided to settle in Boston become its mayor and passionately put the rights of criminals before victims and illegal aliens before citizens. Just how bad is it getting in Boston? as reported and according to newly released data from the major crimes or major cities chiefs association for the first half of 2025 Boston recorded a shocking 143% increase in murders that while nationwide homicide fell nearly 20% during the same time frame Wendy Murphy a Massachusetts-based legal analyst former prosecutor and nationally recognized victim's right advocate told Fox News Digital in part, "The data show the rest of the country getting safer, but Boston is getting deadlier because the message from the top is that accountability doesn't matter." Unfortunately, for the law-abiding citizens of Boston and the Bay State, it's much worse than a lack of accountability. It's also about enabling. City and state recorders Woo, Healey, and Warren continually enable criminals and illegal aliens by deliberately weakening the laws of the city and state while handcuffing law enforcement instead of lawb breakakers. Sadly, one doesn't need statistics to know that Boston is becoming increasingly more dangerous by the year. Simply visit the city every six months or so. Walk the streets of one of our nation's most iconic and historic cities and you will personally witness the rapid decline while the rights of taxpaying citizens in Boston and Massachusetts are being weakened or outright ignored by the likes of Woo Healey and Warren. It goes on and on. I'm not going to read the whole thing to you, but this is a great um commentary. It's in the Boston Herald today. You can find it on the website. It's um Douglas McKinnon and uh it's entitled uh far-left carpet baggers destroying the Bay State. It's not too late to save Boston in Massachusetts. Well, Mor Healey is um you know, she's on the ropes. She's up for re-election next year. Let's hopefully we can get her the hell out of here. But Woo, Michelle Woo is running on a post. So, she's uh she's going back into another term. And uh I don't know if you heard me in the first hour mention that she's getting a $43,000 raise in her next term. So she will be earning, and I use that word loosely, $250,000, quarter of a million dollars. Every member of the Boston City Council is getting another raise. They got one last year. They're getting another one this year, too. So, isn't it amazing these politicians, and I agree with them, carpet baggers, I've talked about them before, and there's a bunch of others, too. Charlie Baker was a carpet bagger. Mitt Romney was a carpet bagger, and you know, there's a whole bunch of them. They come to Massachusetts, uh, you know, hoping to, um, use us as a stepping stone to something else. And, uh, but in the meantime, you know, destroy uh, little by little what they see here. And we just keep voting them in. We just keep voting them in. And um it's sad. It really is a shame. We've got an opportunity next year with the governor's race. Try to clean things up here a little bit. Uh we need to elect state reps and senators that are new, that are different, but we also need to elect governors that were born and raised in Massachusetts that understand what's at what's at stake here essentially, right? and say no to the carpet baggers. Elizabeth Warren, Michelle Woo, Mora Healey, the three stooges of Democrat politics here in Massachusetts. Ed Marky was born here and then he took off. We haven't seen him. Ed Marky hasn't maintained a residence in Massachusetts in many years. His main residence is in Maryland, but yet he uh he he puts down on his election papers a a rooming house in lol. Why is that even allowed to happen? Why is that even legal? It shouldn't be. That shouldn't be legal. I don't know why people vote for politicians who are um carpet baggers anyway. Why do you don't we have enough intelligent smart people here in Massachusetts to vote for it? That we don't have to import the likes of Elizabeth Warren from Oklahoma. What did we ever deserve do to deserve that? Well, again, you know, McKinnon points out in his uh in his commentary that um you know, the common denominator with a lot of these stooges is is Harvard and the um the liberal education system, higher education system here that attracts these banana heads. We get the people we vote for. You think you think Elizabeth Warren's cute cuz she yells and screams and has that grandma look and that that foolish idiotic way of speaking.
