The Patrick-Murray Administration has selected two "Brownfield" sites in New Bedford as priority sites for cleanup and redevelopment.

Lt. Governor Tim Murray held a news conference Thursday at the State House, and announced the priority locations around the state, including the former Payne Cutlery and Elco Dress sites in New Bedford's North End.

Both sites contain indsutry-related contamination.  Rep. Robert Koczera of New Bedford tells WBSM News, the sites have already been cleared, but still need to be cleaned.....

Koczera says the agencies like the DEP and Mass Development will work to establish a remediation plan that will prepare the sites for redevelopment. He's hoping the agencies will get to work on the plan right away.
