A 40-year-old Hingham man has pleaded guilty to being an armed career criminal when he fired a gun at police during a 2020 standoff, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's office.
The man who sparked an hours-long manhunt on Tuesday in Mattapoisett was found to be in possession of five rifles at the time of his arrest, according to police.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the officer was using a 37mm projectile launcher loaded with training rounds, when the device exploded in his hands.
