Swansea Mall

A head-on car crash in Swansea Thursday, Jan. 18, injured two. Police suspect the 53-year-old driver of one vehicle was operating under the influence.

The Swansea Mall opened in 1975 and closed in 2019. The current owner has rehabbed the property and is attempting to attract new tenants.

Selectman Chris Carreiro says he's confident the site will be redeveloped.

Sears Holding Co. announced Thursday that the Sears store and auto center at the Swansea Mall will close by mid-April, according to a company press release.

Swansea Police are looking for two suspects following a jewelry store robbery Sunday afternoon.
