Southeastern Regional Transit Authority

The Southeastern Regional Transit Authority (SRTA) will offer Sunday bus service starting Jan. 28, 2024. All rides are free through June 2024.

Eric Rousseau says SRTA bus rides are now free through June 30th, and a pilot Sunday program will begin on January 28th.

Mayor Jon Mitchell says the new busses will start SRTA on the path to a clean energy bus fleet.

The Baker Administration awarded SRTA $318,000 to establish a pilot program for Sunday bus service.

For many years, the Southeastern Regional Transit Authority was thought to be non-rider friendly. But that has changed since Administrator Erik Rousseau came onboard.

Back between 2008 and 2010, John George Jr.’s Union Street Bus Company denied about 800 people with disabilities to ride on his paratransit vehicles.
