A New Bedford man with a long criminal rap sheet was convicted of slashing a man across the face in front of his young child was sentenced to state prison.

New Bedford Police are investigating the report of 21 vehicles that had one or two tires slashed. The damage was reported in the area of Highland Street, Loftus Street, Harvard Street and Phillips Avenue.
