In a first for the city, the Greater New Bedford region, and possibly in southeastern Massachusetts, a local church will be getting a transgender woman as its leader.

Easter Sunrise Service at Fort Phoenix has been a shared experience for Christians for at least 80 years.

Local residents, clergy and elected officials gathered at the Pilgrim United Church of Christ Sunday evening for the City of New Bedford Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Day of Remembrance & Community Program.
