The 2014 New Bedford Bay Sox are off to a rough start. They are currently sitting at the bottom of the Southern Division of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) with a 4-0 record.

The New Bedford Bay Sox are still looking for their first win of the season, after dropping their home opener Saturday night, 4-2 to the Ocean State Waves at Paul Walswh Field. The Bay Sox scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the first, but their offense was held in check the rest of the way, while Ocean State scored two runs apiece in the second and sixth innings...

Bay Sox Lose 9-2
The New Bedford Bay Sox struggled offensively Friday night, dropping a 9-2 decision to the Plymouth Pilgrims in Plymouth.  Third baseman David McKinnon and center fielder Chris LaVorgna knocked in the only runs for New Bedford. Bay Sox Manager Rick Miller sent lefty Tim Superko to the mound, and he allowed  seven hits and five walks in 3 2/3rds innings...

Chris Travers was in-studio with Pete and Neal this morning. Chris is the catcher for the New Bedford BaySox. He's from Freetown, went to Apponequet Regional High School and now attends Roger Williams University. He told us what it was like to play at this level, what it was like to catch an almost-no-hitter last night, and how great it is to sleep in his own bed this summer...
