Tonight on the Zeiterion stage, something both uncanny and transformative occurred as actress Cherita Armstrong channeled the spirit of Harriet Jacobs in Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl.
As a young girl, Harriet Jacobs spent seven years hiding as a fugitive in her grandmother's attic. In 1861, she put those seven years on paper. Now, those seven years are told through a 50-minute performance at the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center in New Bedford.
