The Freetown Fire Department extinguished a two-alarm fire this afternoon at a commercial building that once served as East Freetown's first firehouse.

Crews from multiple fire departments battled a fully involved structure fire in Assonet Tuesday night.

A house fire Friday night in the Assonet section of Freetown caused extensive damage to the basement and first and second floors of the structure.
