A New Bedford man has been indicted by a grand jury for rape and other charges in connection to a cold case rape of a 16-year-old victim in 2012.

Cold case rape kit DNA testing has resulted in another suspect's arrest, according to a Tuesday release from the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.

A reported explosion and an afternoon fire have left a number of people displaced from their homes in New Bedford's South End.
