Orpheum Theatre Fundraising Meeting Tonight

A head of a non-profit group is hoping for community support to help save the Orpheum Theatre building.

Members of O.R.P.H. Inc. had been trying to work out a lease with the owner of the building, that would allow the group to continue trying to restore the Orpheum Theatre. Founder Charles Hauck says talks were ongoing.

Hauck is organizing a community meeting for tonight, 7pm at Gallery X. He's hoping to hear some ideas from the general public on ways to raise money and save the building.

The building owner, Ignacio Diaz has the South End property on the market for $1.1 million.
