About ten-percent of Americans are living with diabetes.  That's according to a new study out today that says some 21 million adults in the U.S. had diabetes in 2010.

Type 2 diabetes accounts for up to 95-percent of all cases.  Researchers say the diabetes epidemic is a direct consequence of the national rise in obesity.

The results are published in the "Annals of Internal Medicine."
