Derek Fisher is the new head coach of the New York Knicks. The team introduced Fisher at a press conference today. Yahoo Sports reports the deal is for five years and worth 25-million-dollars.

Fisher replaces Mike Woodson, who was fired at the end of the regular season. Fisher just completed his 18th season in the NBA with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The 39-year-old won five NBA championships under current Knicks president Phil Jackson in Los Angeles.

He averaged 8.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists over 1,287 career games with the Lakers, Warriors, Jazz, Mavericks and Thunder. Fisher appeared in 259 career playoff games, which is most in NBA history.
