New Bedford Soccer Facility Robbed
A New Bedford soccer facility is robbed this morning.
New Bedford Police say the Champions Sports Center on Purchase Street was held up at 5:30am, just as the first employee arrived to open up the business. When the employee arrived, a man with a knife forced the 22-year-old male employee to open the register and hand over the money. The employee complied, with the suspect heading south on Purchase Street with an unkown amount of cash.
A clear description of the suspect is unavailable, as the man was wearing sunglasses, and had covered the lower half of his face with a cloth or mask.
No injuries were reported. The robbery remains under investigation.
