New Bedford Police are asking the public to identify a man involved in an unarmed robbery last weekend.

Police say the man entered the "Lucky 7" variety store on County Street on Saturday, June 8, and tried buying a pack of cigarettes with his EBT card.

When the man could not get the security code to clear on his card, he became angry and went behind the counter, took some cigarettes, cigars, and a candy bar, and left without paying.

The suspect is described as a white male with a stocky build and facial hair. He was wearing a grey baseball cap, a grey shirt, and grey shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective William Sauve at 508-991-6300 ext. 130.
