New Bedford Homicide Investigation Ongoing

Authorities in New Bedford are investigating the death of a 21-year-old man whose body was found outside an apartment building in the city's west end. 

The Bristol County district attorney's office says the death of Raymond Sanchez is being investigated as a homicide.

Police tell WBSM News, they got a call about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday saying a man had been stabbed at 159 Liberty Street.  Police Capt. Joe Cordeiro said investigators believe Sanchez died from a puncture wound.

Greg Milliote, a spokesman for District Attorney Sam Sutter, said Sanchez didn't live at the apartment where he was found.  An autopsy is being performed to determine exactly how Sanchez died. (Associated Press)
