New Bedford Firearms Arrest

Members of the New Bedford Police Organized Crime Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at 61 Washington St. in the south end Friday night.

They uncovered a small amount of marijuama, packaging material, and a scale. Also recovered was a 9mm semi-automatic handgun loaded with 5  rounds under a floor board. The gun was reported stolen in Auburn, Maine.

Police arrested the occupant, 27-year-old Kelvin Goncalves of the Washington St. address and he was arraigned in district court on a number of firearms and possession of drug charges.
