The City of New Bedford is continuing its effort to gather public input about future uses for so-called brownfield sites in the north end of the city. The city held another workshop on the issue Monday night. Director Michelle Paul of the city's Office of Environmental Stewardship says input from residents is important.

Among the ideas presented for the sites at the meeting included, a neighborhood parking lot with a green buffer zone or possible a nano brewery or restaurant or community garden at the former Dawson Brewery site on Brook Street, soccer fields at the combined Elco Dress and Payne Cutlery site and a child care or wellness center at the former Phillips Ave school.
