NBA To Punish Spurs For Sitting Stars

Gregg Popovich picked the wrong night to rest his star players. The NBA says that because of it, the Spurs will face sanctions.

You would think that when playing a team like the Miami Heat - the defending champions - you would want to have all your ducks in a row. Not the case on Thursday night. The San Antonio Spurs faced Miami, but all their star players did not.

Many NBA fans were upset by the decision, especially since this was such a marquee match up, and nationally televised. NBA commish. David Stern announced that the Spurs will face discipline for this.

In the meantime, Gregg Popovich says he sat them because this particular part of their schedule is very tough, and he wanted them rested.
