McConaughey’s Wife Becomes Citizen

Just last week, here in New Bedford, local immigrants were sworn in as new citizens. The Immigrants Assistance Center on Crapo St. has been giving guidance and support attaining citizenship. Tonight, Thursday August 6, the IAC is hosting a summer fundraiser at the gardens of the Madeiran Heritage Museum, 27 Hope St., from 7 pm to 10 pm. Ticket price is $35. Speaking of becoming a new citizen, Matthew McConaughey's wife, Camila Alves, has  officially become a U.S. citizen. The Oscar-winner revealed the news on Twitter by sharing a beautiful family photo from the big day and writing, "congratulations Camila on getting your U.S. citizenship today - another fellow and great American. Camila is originally from Brazil.
