The state's top judiciary official stopped by New Bedford Tuesday afternoon to visit the city's new Justice Bridge office located at 257-259 Union Street.

UMass Law's Justice Bridge is a law practice incubator aimed at providing valuable experiences for fresh law school graduates.

Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Ralph Gants says it also helps clients get the representation they deserve.

"It has been targeting clients who may otherwise not be able to qualify for legal aid because they are somewhat above the income level or not be able to be accepted because legal aid is turning away half of those who do qualify for legal aid."

Justice Bridge was launched nine months ago in Boston, and now has additional offices in New Bedford and Taunton.
