There is nothing better than getting in the car and taking a drive with not a care in the world.  Whenever possible, I always take the scenic route.  There are a lot of them here in New England, but this one in Massachusetts was recently named one of the best in the Country.

Old King's Highway on Cape Cod, Massachusetts is Beautiful

If you know, you know.  If you don't, you should go.  Recently, HGTV named the 25 most popular road trips in the U.S. Among them, was Old King's Highway, also known as Route 6A for a visit through some of the oldest towns in America.

Old King's Highway is 62 miles long, beginning at Bourne and Orleans and ending in Provincetown. There are so many stops along the way, you may never get to that Drag Brunch at the Crown Anchor in P-town, so decide wisely.

You will pass so many interesting places like cranberry bogs, farms and conservation areas.  You will see lots of beautiful coastline and historic architecture.

There is so Much to do on Route 6A

Are there antique shops and other hip stores along the way, you may be asking?  One question comes to mind for me that answers that question and it has to do with a bear doing his business in the woods.  Yes, there are a million billion shops along the way.

If you don't make any stops from Orleans to P-town, google says it will take you about 42 minutes, which is laughable, especially during the Summer.  Maybe it would take you that long if you drove the route in the middle of the night on a random Tuesday in February, but even then, there are people heading to the beach to try and find their dignity they left on the beach somewhere in Wellfleet.

Check out more stops along Route 6a here, as provided by the fine folks at the Cape Cod Chamber.
