Downtown New Bedford Inc. Celebrates “Great” Year

Downtown New Bedford Inc. saluted its members and community leaders during its 23rd Annual Meeting Wednesday at the Fairfield Inn on the waterfront.  DNB President Kevin Pelland tells WBSM News, 2012 has been a solid year for downtown, with more businesses moving in.

Richard Lafrance of Lafrance Hospitality was honored as the Person of the Year for bringing a new hotel to the downtown.  Director Dianne Arsenault says the hotel has helped boost the city's image....

The Bedford Merchant and Moby Dick Gift Shops were honored as the Downtown Business of the Year, and New Bedford Festival Theater was recognized for its contribution to the arts and culture.
