Dartmouth Police are investigating a phone and mail scam that has re-surfaced in town. It mainly targets the elderly who receive a phone call or a letter, saying they've won a large amount of money but in order to collect their winnings, they must forward money of their own, usually between 50 to 250 dollars, to the caller via money order or prepaid paypal cards. The victim is told they'll be reimbursed when they receive their winnings. Obviously, they never get their money. Dartmouth Police urge anyone who receives correspondence or a phone call of this nature to never provide personal information and to notify their phone provider or their postal service.
