Spoiler Alert: Getting married can be a great gain for many couples - especially if you are a woman. A new study conducted at Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia, revealed brides put on between five to 10 pounds in the first half year of marriage!

Many brides will almost starve themselves for months in order to squeeze into that wedding dress only to start packing it on starting with the honeymoon.

Despite many brides enduring months of strict dieting in order to shed as much weight before their big day, researchers say some gain it back within months after getting married, while other average bride's weight did not change.

Did this happen to you? If saying "I do" means immediate weight gain, maybe brides should make diet and exercise a part of their wedding vows.
