Weather forecasters at ABC6 are calling for unbearable temperatures this weekend. With heat indexes calling for over 105 degrees, it's important to stay hydrated and not expose yourself to this extreme heat for extended amounts of time.

YMCA SouthCoast recognizes that many people may be going without air conditioning or a cool place to shelter from the heat. That's why they are opening all their locations, except for Mattapoisett, to the public for cooling stations in each location's air-conditioned lobby.

Members and non-members can visit participating YMCA SouthCoast locations this weekend to stay cool.

You must provide Identification upon entering at the Welcome Center for everyone's safety.

Also, it's recommended that if you are going to be outside for an extended period of time that you bring lots of ice and water along with you. Staying hydrated is key and with temperatures this high, you can't hydrate enough.

Stay cool this weekend, and if you have to be outside, stay safe.

While you are at the YMCA SouthCoast, you may want to check out the benefits of being a member.
