After a hit and run accident in Rhode Island over the weekend, the Bishop in Worcester is in some trouble for drinking and driving.

According to WVCB, Robert McManus hit a driver on Saturday night. When he drove away, the driver decided to follow him. He was stopped by police in Narragansett, RI and refused to take a chemical test.

The police went to McManus' vacation home and made the arrest. He will be arraigned sometime this week. In a statement he said he made a terrible error in his decision to drive after consuming alcohol with his dinner. He asks forgiveness from the people he serves.

McManus is the former auxiliary bishop of Providence, and became the Bishop in Worcester in 2004.
