Woman Jailed For MassHealth Scam
A Lynn woman will spend one-to-two years in state prison for bilking MassHealth out of half-a-million-dollars. 42-year-old Marilyn Beltran worked for a firm called "Maximus" which administers benefits for the state. The program she stole from reimburses people for taxi rides to medical appointments. Instead of sending the money to MassHealth clients, she kept it for herself. Beltran ran the scheme for nearly eight years before she was caught.
