An acquaintance of a slain Massachusetts man says former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez looked angry at the victim a couple of days before the slaying.

But Hernandez's lawyer aggressively questioned Kwami Nicholas on Tuesday, bringing up inconsistencies in what he told police and what he said on the stand.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty in the June 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, who was dating his fiancee's sister.

Nicholas was in the same nightclub as Hernandez and Lloyd two nights before Lloyd's killing.

Under questioning by prosecutors, Nicholas said Hernandez stared at Lloyd and looked angry. The description was stricken by the judge after the defense objected.

Nicholas then said Hernandez went ``storming out of the club'' with his head down and brushed off Lloyd, who followed behind.
