A would-be personal trainer for Aaron Hernandez was called to the witness stand Tuesday during Hernandez's murder trial.

Brian McDonough operates a strength and conditioning business in Foxboro, and was supposed to meet with Hernandez for the first time on June 17, 2013, the day Odin Lloyd was killed.

McDonough's testimony to prosecutors revealed Hernandez texted him, apologizing for missing the appointment, and saying he had lost his phone. McDonough says Hernandez rescheduled for the next day, but later canceled, saying something serious had come up.

Hernandez's defense attorney, Michael Fee, questioned McDonough on the nature of the text messages.

Fee pressed McDonough, who revealed he was 'pleased' to have Aaron Hernandez as a client and he was 'happy for the business'.

Testimony will resume Wednesday in Fall River Superior Court.
