Wilson Sporting Goods Completes Purchase Of Baseball Bat Company
Wilson Sporting Goods says it has completed its purchase of the Louisville Slugger brand for 70 million dollars.
Louisville Slugger baseball bats have been made by the family-owned Hillerich and Bradsby company for more than 130 years. As part of the deal, the wooden bats will still be made at the downtown Louisville factory. H&B will also own and operate the Louisville Slugger Museum and Gift Shop.
With the completion of the deal, Wilson is now the provider of the official glove -- and bat -- of Major League Baseball. (Metro Networks Inc)
