Whiskey is once again growing in popularity and is quickly becoming one of the hottest spirits in America.

Heather Greene is the current director of the Whiskey School at the Flatiron Room in Manhattan. She's also the first American woman to serve on the Scotch Malt Whiskey Tasting Panel in Edinburgh. Now she has written a book called Whisk(e)y Distilled: A Populist Guide To The Water Of Life.

I am a scotch lover so I asked Heather what the difference was between whiskey, scotch and bourbon. Also, we learned about how she got started with whiskey and for people who are new to the taste, where should they start?

Heather gives us a great introduction to all whiskeys with simple tips to start drinking the spirit, tells us how they can be paired with food, and more whether you are new to the beverage or not. Enjoy!
