I haven't been fortunate enough to discover rare gold or silver coins in my backyard, but I did unearth an old pitch fork. I guess that doesn't shake up things on the Richter Scale. What about a rusted horseshoe?

I read where one guy was clearing out the lot in his backyard when he came upon a mound. This wasn't a regular mound. After inspecting it closely, it turned out to be an unmarked grave. Most likely, it was a Civil War soldier. R.I.P.

Friends of mine have found fossils of fish in their backyard, probably from the time the land was covered by the ocean. And we hear of interesting finds uncovered when backhoe's dig to install backyard swimming pools.

I'm really interested in hearing what curious or oddball thing you've discovered in your own backyard!
