The Greater Fall River Art Association is taking on a patriotic theme this Saturday with events geared towards a salute to the troops and active-duty service members.

According to The Herald News, ‘“A Salute to Veterans,” an exhibit opening from 4 to 7 p.m., will feature veterans’ artwork, family memorabilia related to military service and local artists’ patriotic-themed pieces, including paintings, photos, jewelry, pen and ink drawings and mixed media.” The event will feature live music from performers, such as Monica Ambroziak and Johnny Botelho. Refreshments will also be served at the event.

The day will start off with a free brunch for veterans and their spouses from 10am to noon at the art association.

“Spring Art Express Party,” a paid workshop with GFRAA artist Joan L’Homme, will run from 1 to 3pm. Those who want to honor a veteran are welcomed to do so in the workshop by creating artwork from vintage pieces, jewels, found objects on boxes, and other types of containers.

To register for the workshop, call Joan L’Homme at 508-679-3802. The cost is $30 for members and $40 for non-members and experience is not required. Participants should bring a container and supplies. L’Homme will also have supplies available to participants.

The Greater Fall River Art Association is located at 80 Belmont Street. For details, visit www.greaterfallriverartassoc.org.
