Local baker Arthur Battistini will have a grand opening of his new bakery on Wednesday, which will be located at 16 Wareham St. in Middleboro.

According to South Coast Today.com, his bakery, Battistini's Bakery, will operate in a similar fashion to that of its former temporary location on Main St., where the business operated for its first few months.

"The grand opening of the store marks the close of Battistini’s nearly four year search for the bakery’s permanent home."

Battistini navigated his way through negotiations on multiple locations in Middleboro, such as the building downtown that was formerly Reedy’s Archery, and the former location of Steve’s Sports Den.

Later, Battistini came across what would be the bakery's temporary home for over a year and a half before resident Neil Rosenthal, owner of the building at 16 Wareham St., formerly Mack’s Music, approached him about the possibility of renting out that space a few months ago.

“I want to set up a class schedule with cooking and baking classes, basic baking principles, cupcake decorating. I’ll start off in the function room for things that don’t involve a kitchen," Battistini explained. “Then once I have the kitchen space done we can do stuff there too.”

The grand opening on Wednesday will include free samples, and will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

On the day Thanksgiving, regular store hours will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
