The 45th Whaling City Festival takes place this weekend at Buttonwood Park in New Bedford. The event draws hundreds of people to the park to enjoy entertainment, food and arts and crafts and flea market vendors. Alan Richard is running the festval for the 2nd year in a row and says there are many new events as well as the usual events people expect.

The festival runs from 9 am to 8 pm all three days. The festival committee is running a shuttle bus from the New Bedford High parking lot to the festival to make it easier for people to park their cars out of the west end neighborhood. For more information visit their website.
