A Westwood man has been arrested in connection with a bomb threat made to the Fall River Justice Center on Thursday.

Lieutenant Ronald Furtado says the bomb threat made around 12:00 p.m. and the building was evacuated and a thorough search of the building was conducted by the Fall River Police Department's K-9 Unit, Officers assigned to the Special Operations Division, and State Police detectives from the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.

No evidence of a bomb was found and all court staff and the general public were allowed to re-enter the building.

Furtado says officers assigned to the Fall River Police Department's Special Operations Division along with State Police and State Court Security personnel gathered information that led to an arrest warranr being issued for 56-year-old Paul Haddad.

Westwood police officers and Officers assigned to the Special Operations Division located Haddad at his home later that day and took him into custody.

He was then transported to the Fall River Justice Center where the Herald News is reporting he was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on April 2.

Police have told the Associated Press that the threat had nothing to do with Hernandez, the former New England Patriots player, who is on trial for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd.

A motive has not been disclosed.

Furtado says the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information on this matter is being asked to contact Lieutenant Paul Bernier at the Fall River Police Department's Special Operations Division at (508)324-2801).

A cash reward is being offered for information that will assist in the prosecution of Haddad.
