The former owner of a Westport gun store has pleaded guilty to possession of illegal assault weapons and dozens of other charges.

Police say 49 year old Wayne Cinquini of Main Road appeared in Fall River District Court this week, pleading guilty to more than 100 weapons charges.

He was sentenced to two years probation.  In addition, he must forfeit his entire gun collection, valued at more than $100,000. The guns will be destroyed.

Police searched Cinquini's residence in September, 2014 and found 250 weapons including ten rifles considered to be assault weapons which are illegal in Massachusetts.

Also seized were more than 50 pounds of gunpowder and a silencer.
