Westport firefighters responsed to a home at 2009 Main Road early Saturday, after receiving a 9-1-1 call that the house had been struck by lightning.

Fire Captain Michael Silvia says crews found a small fire on the second floor that was quickly extinguished, but encountered heavy smoke and fire in the attic.

Fighting the blaze from both the interior and exterior, the fire was brought under control in about 45 minutes. Silvia says damage was estimated at around $200,000. There were no injuries.

The owners of the property are listed as John and Nancy Pannoni of Westport.

Providing assistance were fire departments from Little Compton, Tiverton, Dartmouth and Fall River
