Officials in Westport are offering more information about a body found by a fishing boat last week in waters off Westport.

According to the assistant Harbormaster, the body was completely dismembered.

Jonathan Paull told WJAR, Channel 10, the body had no arms, no legs and no head, it was just a torso wrapped in plastic. Paull said the torso looked like a caucasian male that had been in the water for more than a week.

Greg Miliote, a spokesman for District Attorney Thomas Quinn, would say only that an investigation is ongoing.

He says the office is still waiting for additional information from the medical examiner.
