What a busy weekend for festivals in Southern New England.  There were festivals held all over the state and hopefully you made it to one.  I visited the A.D. Makepeace Cranberry Festival on Saturday in Wareham, this was the 10th annual event and it was bigger than ever.  Thousands of people packed the grounds playing games, eating some delicious festival food and taking part in some fun activities, including helicopter rides.  The festival went for two day's and was a huge success.  Another huge success was the New Bedford Chowder Festival, the festival was in a new location this year and by all accounts it was a great move.  People were treated to some fine hospitality and some delicious chowders and specialty soups along with some stuffed quahogs.  The Chowder Festival has become an October favorite event for many.  The Peoples choice awards awarded Mikes restaurant best Chowder, Autumn Glenn won for best Kale soup and Freestone won for Seafood Chowder.
