A Fall River program that provides loans to small businesses is getting a boost from a regional bank with offices in Mass. and Rhode Island. Webster Bank is awarding the Fall River Office of Economic Development $750,000 to assist Fall River businesses with start up funding and low interest loans that will help create and retain jobs in the city. Webster Sr. Vice President Tom Brady says creating jobs and investment is what the money is all about....

Since its inception, Jobs For Fall River has helped create or retain more than 14,000 jobs, and Brady says in this economy, their work is more important than ever. The funding was announced at Book Enterprises LLC in Fall River, a book reselling company who's president says his business has doubled over the last year, thanks in part of a loan from Jobs For Fall River.
