NEW BEDFORD — WBSM News was streaming live from the Candidates Night at the Alfred J. Gomes School on Monday night, as those running for School Committee, At-Large Councillor, Ward 4 Councillor and Mayor were in attendance to answer questions from moderators Jim Phillips of WBSM and Jack Spillane of The Standard-Times.

The night started off with the debate among School Committee candidates John Oliveira, incumbent Josh Amaral, Richard Porter III and Colleen Dawicki:

Next up was the debate among the candidates for Councillor-At-Large, with incumbents Brian Gomes, Naomi Carney, Deborah Coelho, Ian Abreu and Linda Morad, as well as challengers Dr. Christopher Boerl and Michael Janson:

Things started to get heated up when challenger Joseph "Jo Jo" Fortes went after incumbent Ward 4 Councillor Dana Rebeiro for her attendance and voting record:
