Democratic Senate challenger Elizabeth Warren held what looks to be her final campaign event in New Bedford Thursday night. Joined by outgoing Congressman Barney Frank and other local democrats, Warren addressed the crowd briefly, saying her record as an advocate for the working-class makes her the best choice for the Southcoast. Frank tells WBSM, Warren is well-versed in the issues facing the area.

Frank also announced Thursday that the rally would be his last political event in New Bedford, before his retirement from Congress in January. With just five days to go before the election, the latest Suffolk University poll shows Warren with a 53-to-46 percent lead over Republican incumbent Scott Brown. A new report out Thursday shows that both candidates have shattered state records for campaign money spent. Brown has spent $32-point-5 million dollars, Warren $35-point-4 million.
