New Bedford pride was out in force at Friday's sendoff for Samantha Johnson at Pier 3 on the waterfront.

The New Bedford native is set to sing at New York City's Radio City Music Hall for the next round of 'America's Got Talent' on Tuesday. Johnson is one of 32 contestants left for the third round of cuts on the popular TV show.

Johnson tells WBSM News on-stage nerves won't be an issue, however she is her own biggest critic.

"A lot of times I'm more nervous about the clothes that I'm wearing, or the shoes that I'm wearing than the actual performance. But, I'm a perfectionist so that's where the nerves come in. No matter how I do I tend to hate my performance afterwards," she said.

After Mayor Jon Mitchell started a "Samantha" cheer with the several hundred in attendance, Johnson came up on stage and performed an surprise performance with the Summer Concert Series band, Brass Force.

You can vote Samantha onto the next stage during Tuesday night's show at 8 pm on NBC. Votes can be placed online, or through the 'America's Got Talent' app.
