Wareham Police say they are hunting for two men who were allegedly involved in a disturbance at the Silver Lake Motel on Cranberry Highway.

Interim Police Chief Kevin Walsh says police responded to the motel early Wednesday following a disturbance in room 139. A woman told police two men forced their way into her room and assaulted her, and then attacked two men who were awakened by the disturbance.

Witnesses said they heard a gunshot in the room, but police did not locate a weapon. The attackers then left the room.

Chief Walsh says while police were questioning the occupants, they noticed that 20 year old Moises Mojica from the Bronx had been stabbed in the side. He was flown to a Boston area hospital for treatment. His condition is not known.

Police also learned that a backpack belonging to Mojica was taken.

Walsh says the motive for the attack is not known, but investigators doubt it was a random act.
