Wareham Police have arrested a man in connection with a December robbery.

Police Chief Kevin Walsh says 60-year-old Alvin Philbrick was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday while walking along Route 28 in Wareham.

The arrest came after detectives executed a search warrant earlier that afternoon at his home at 112 Charge Pond Rd. for the recovery of evidence related to the December 23 armed robbery of the Speedway Gas on Main St.

Philbrick is accused of using a crowbar and a mask to rob the store before fleeing with an undetermined amount of cash.

Walsh says a search of the residence uncovered clothing that matched the description of those worn by the robber and a further investigation regarding the suspect's identity was also conducted at the resdience.

Philbrick was charged with Armed Robbery and was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning in Wareham District Court.
